Lori Vallow Daybell is pushing for a new trial just days after being found guilty of conspiracy to murder her ex-husband Charles Vallow. She filed a motion on May 1 citing a juror's knowledge of her prior convictions and other irregularities in the trial.

Her motion alleges discovery violations, prosecutorial misconduct, and lack of impartiality in the proceedings. Vallow Daybell and her current husband, Chad Daybell, were previously convicted in Idaho for the murders of her children and Chad's first wife.
During the recent trial, Vallow Daybell represented herself and chose not to present a defense. She argued that the tragic event was not a crime, but prosecutors claimed she conspired with her brother to kill her ex-husband for financial gain.
Known as the "Doomsday mom," Vallow Daybell's religious beliefs have been scrutinized in court. Her motion for a new trial also mentions evidence she was not allowed to present and alleged misconduct by the prosecution.
Despite the motion, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office has yet to respond. Reporters Perry Vandell and Christopher Cann provide updates on the case for The Arizona Republic and USA TODAY.
