Israeli Airstrikes Kill 48 at Gaza Shelters for Displaced Palestinians

Forty-eight people, including seven children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on school compounds sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza, according to hospital officials.

Dozens more were injured in the strikes. At one site in the Al Bureij camp, video footage showed the aftermath of the devastation.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital reported 33 fatalities, including women and children. One survivor, Safaa Al Khaldi, described the dire situation inside the school.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated the strikes targeted terrorists within a Hamas command center, but provided no further details.

The ongoing violence in Gaza has resulted in over 2,500 Palestinian deaths since March 18, with healthcare facilities struggling to cope.

The UN has warned of a deepening catastrophe in Gaza and emphasized the need to protect civilians and meet their essential needs.
