A group of female soccer players has taken a fresh approach to the game by establishing a club where the focus is on fun rather than goals.

Founded in London by Lorne Magill and Nora Beqaj, Gals FC started as a casual kickabout in a local park and has grown to include approximately 270 members with teams in various UK cities.

Gals FC hosts noncompetitive soccer sessions that provide a safe space for women and nonbinary players to enjoy the game and build friendships. The matches are open to all skill levels, with no referees and no official scorekeeping.
Players rotate positions every 5 minutes to keep things engaging for everyone. Each session is overseen by a pair of 'vibe protectors' who ensure a smooth and lighthearted atmosphere for all participants.
"Some people question the purpose of playing soccer without keeping score," said Magill. "But Gals FC is not about that. It may not be for everyone, but it is perfect for us!"
